Bye Bye Victory :(

Well, it has come as a shock to many people, including myself but it looks as though Polaris is shutting down Victory Motorcycles.  They will now focus their efforts on Indian Motorcycles.  Is this a good move?  That I don’t know, or do I even begin to pretend to know or understand.  But it looks to be happening.  And it’s always sad to see a brand of bike disappear.  It’s even sadder for those riders that currently own a Victory as that bike now is going to be considerably harder to sell and find parts.  Even though Polaris has stated that they will continue to supply parts for the next 10 years.  Still.  It’s a huge blow to those that love and are part of the Victory brand.

I find it amazing that just last week we were at the Toronto Motorcycle Super Show and of course Victory was there.  They were there selling their bikes.  I wonder if they knew.  Did they know that Victory was shutting down?  Did they sell any bikes to unknowing buyers?  I sure hope not.

For the last 2 years, I’ve been able to try out and ride numerous Victory motorcycles and I have to say that they are crazy nice looking bikes, there is no other bike that looks like them.  They just stand out.  The look great, they sound great, they ride great.  It’s really too bad that they are going away.

That leaves us with Indian Motorcycles.

I’ll be honest here.  If I had to choose between a Victory and an Indian I would definitely buy an Indian!  Maybe that’s what everyone else said as well.  But I guess we will never know.  Indian will definitely be a brand that is heavy on my radar.  It’ll be interesting to see what Polaris does with them now that Indian is their only motorcycle brand

Was a great Ride Victory.
You will be missed.
