More stuff is on the way!

So it didn’t take long for me to start ordering more stuff for both myself and my bike.  Im pretty sure that after this order there really won’t be anything that I can actually buy for my Hyosung GV250. Lets take a look at what I ordered.

For the bike…

I only ordered one thing for my bike and that was from Hyosungsource (http://www.hyosungsource.com).  And Im hoping that this will be a nice add-on both for protection and for comfort.  Since I put the bike down last year and I was extremely fortunate to not seriously damage either the bike or myself, I decided that I wanted engine guards.  These will help protect the engine and a lot of the other components incase of a fall.  Plus these guards come with what look like mini floorboards.

Upon reading a lot of posts, most riders who use floor boards say that it is a great way to adjust your footing, which can help result in a longer ride before you need to get up off of the bike.  Plus ill probably end up putting some highway pegs on these bars once I get them.  Ill be doing at least two nice long rides this year (one from Ottawa to Port Dover, Ontario and the other from Ottawa to Lake Placid, NY) and anything that can help keep me comfortable will be greatly appreciated.

For Me …

The other items that i ordered today was gear for me.  I ordered all of the items from Leatherup.com .   Im always a little concerned with buying clothes online due to not being able to try any of it on, but I have ordered a fair bit of things from them and have been very happy with all of it.  I do though recommend going over any and all of the reviews as they can be very helpful in regards to sizing.  One of the reviewers was pretty much the exact same height and weight as myself so I followed his recommendation and ordered exactly what he said that I should.  Lets see how that works.

First thing was a new leather jacket.  I have a leather jacket and it looks like a motorcycle jacket, but after buying my wife a Harley Davidson Leather jacket for Christmas this past year I realized what a real motorcycle jacket feels and looks like.  So here is the one that I bought.

Its the XElement Advanced Armour Leather Jacket.  You can see the jacket over on their site at http://www.leatherup.ca/p/Shop-Mens-Leather-Motorcycle-Jackets/Xelement-Mens-Advanced-Armored-Padded-Black-Motorcycle-Jacket/42527.html

Im really looking forward to seeing this jacket in person as the reviews on the site (and there is a ton of them) is always on the good side.  Again after having a pretty good fall last year I am very eager to be riding with a jacket that not only has good thick leather, but also has armour in it.  Will definitely show you the jacket once I receive it.

Next would be a new Helmet.  Again after bailing last year and only really receiving a good sized headache (after regaining consciousness – yup, woke up in the hospital – thank god for my helmet), The helmet that I was wearing was a SkidLid half helmet and it most definitely did its job.

This helmet in design has that classic half helmet look, but it has the drop down smoked glass visor which should definitely come in handy on those bright days, or the opposite, when it rains.  Nothing worse then rain smacking you in the eyes while you are riding!  The other thing that I liked was the leather look that this helmet has. Im very fond of that.  If you are interested in this helmet here is the link.

Last thing was a new rain suit

You never really want to ride in the rain but sometimes you just have to.  So having a rain suit with you at all times is really important.  I bought one last year but the pants got torn in my accident and so I was on the lookout for some new ones.  The jacket that I had with my old rain suit still works and ill keep it as a backup, but I’m looking forward to wearing this new one.

Normally I would have just went out looking for some replacement pants, but for this price buying the whole suit just seemed like a no brainer to me.  $39, how do you beat that!  Again my only real concern is sizing.  Ill let you all know how it fits when I receive it hopefully next week.  Again, if you would like more information on this rain suit or are interested in purchasing one you can head on over to the link below.

So there you have it.  This should be the end of my big orders for this winter season.  Sure ill probably pick up some little things along the way, and ill be sure to post them when I do.  Ill also put up a post when these items arrive so I can let you know what I think.

Spring is coming!!!  Hope you are all as excited as I am!!  Soon my friends, Soon!!!

Greg
