Need some extra storage for that long Motorcycle Trip?

When most of us think of storage on our bikes, we usually think of a couple things.

First one that we think of and probably what most of us actually have are saddlebags.  These can be big or small.  Next, if we get adventurous, may be the move up to a rear motorcycle trunk.  These are nice, but you really have to have a cruiser style bike to get use from these.  Next we have all kinds of little luggage bags that can attach just about anywhere on our bikes.  And for the daily commuter, sometimes all we need is just a simple backpack.

But what about the person who is doing that long haul trip.  Who is going to be gone for days, weeks, or even months?  Being able to carry a bit more and not have it actually weigh the bike down would be something I think most of us would like.

So I had the pleasure of speaking with Juan at the Ottawa International Motorcycle Show. Now Juan did not have a booth here, but traveled to Ottawa from London (Ontario) to see the show.  We had a great talk about why he came up with these trailers and what they are like when being pulled by your bike.

Have a watch.  Seems like a great add-on to you motorcycle.

  1. I purchased one of these trailers in 2011 for a trip to Winnipeg. Juan was able to get the trailer to me two days before my trip. I went on a ride to Barrie with it from the Hamilton area thru Toronto and it took me ZERO time to get use to it. Before I made the purchase, Juan was kind enough to allow me to go for a test ride with one of his own. The handling of the trailer was GREAT. I ride a Yamaha YZF600 and I really must say that having a passenger on the bike is worse than pulling the fully loaded trailer… The only times i felt the trailer which was a discomfort was on some road sealant in a curve on the 403 in Hamilton, aside from that, the trailer is a really nice tight fit and I dragged my toe the first time with the trailer.

    These trailers are AWESOME!

    • Thanks for the comment of the “Third wheel trailers” post. Was really great meeting Juan. Im hoping that this summer if I get the opportunity to head down that way, ill try and stop in and see Juan’s shop and his trailers. Hope you join this site’s Forum. Look forward to seeing and hearing from you again!
