2014 Ottawa Ride For Dad

So last year the Ride for Dad was the first big ride that I had ever rode on.  This year I got the opportunity to do the ride again but I got to bring my daughter as a passenger.  The Ride for Dad consists of 2 parts.  The first part is the actual parade, which in Ottawa, had approximately 1800 bikes.  And this is the part that my daughter rode with me.  The second part is the actual Poker Run, which spans about 150 kilometres, and this part I would do solo.

The ride itself as many know is all about an awareness of Prostate Cancer, and this year rose between 3 and 4 hundred thousand dollars.  Which is fantastic.

Well below is footage taken before and during the parade portion of the ride, with me narrating over top.

I hope you enjoy.

  1. Looked like a great day for a great cause. Always better with the kids involved! Give her time.. she’ll work up to riding all day long with you. Hard to keep mine off the bike! haha. We’re gearing up for our 2014 Ride for the Fallen here in BC. Looking forward to more stuff on your site.

    • Thanks for the comment Nick. It definitely was a great day and I look forward to any and all events that she and I can do together. She’s already talking about what kind of bike she wants when she grows up. Soon enough!
