My wife’s bike (Hyosung GV250) got to close to a curb or something a year or so ago, and because of this the exhaust had a pretty big scratch on it. Which in turn ended up rusting where the scratch was. I have been thinking about getting a new exhaust to put on the bike but decided first to see if there was any way to fix it.
What I found was a super simple solution, a very cost-effective solution. Sandpaper. Not heavy grit but very fine sandpaper.
I ended up using both an 800 and 2000 grade paper to almost completely remove the scratch. I do want you to watch the video to really see how bad the scratch was. Hopefully this can help you bring your chrome parts back to life.
