So I’ve been looking at a couple different motorcycle to motorcycle communication devices. For semi this was of course the standard Bluetooth intercoms. Problem with these was that everybody kind of had to have the same Bluetooth set up and you could actually only talk with two or three people at the same time. Also your distance between bikes really wasn’t that far another option, was going with the GMRS or FRS radios. The bonus of these was that their distance was much further, anybody that was on the same channel would be able to communicate, and they really didn’t have a limit as to how many people could be part of the communication. So needless to say I bought myself some FRS radios.
While on holidays and I’m it’s in one of the stores there had a Boxing Day sale so the price of these radios was substantially reduced, So I ended up buying them. The bonus was that it was a three pack and I have three in my family, so that was a huge plus. One of the things though that I had to investigate was to make sure that these handsets were able to get some type of motorcycle headset/microphone. So after little little bit of searching around on the Internet I found a place on eBay that had these specifically for this model. Actually it wasn’t for the 3740 model but for the 3040 model. Anyways they are on order and should hopefully be here soon period
So haven’t had a chance to try them on a motorcycle yet as it is the middle of winter here, but I have played around with them in the house. So far so good. I am though looking forward to seeing how the new headsets Will work once they arrive and how loud the volume is.
