So as I’ve stated in one of my previous posts, Tis the season for me to start buying gear for next season. So one of the first things that I have purchased is another jacket. To be completely honest with you, I was on the search or hunt for a new jacket for my wife and kind of stumbled across this one.
So this is the Vega Merit mesh jacket or some places call it their all season jacket. And in all honesty, this really does seem to be a jacket that can be worn for the majority of the season. The jacket is of course hey mesh jacket which means that it can be worn windy weather reaches those really nice high points, But also has a nice liner inside it for days that it is I little on the cooler side. Liner is of course removable which means that you can take it off and/or put it on when needed. This jacket also comes with five pieces of armor. Armour in the shoulders, elbows, and of course back. The jacket also comes with a fair bit of Velcro straps so that the jacket can be customized to fit you properly. And for those of you that would like to be able to match your bike, you do get a series of color options. Four in total. So, Black with grey, Silver with black, Black and red And black And blue. I of course chose the black with grey accents.
One of the coolest features is the included rain jacket. On the rear of the jacket is a small zipper near your waist, and this contains the rain shell. The shell can be removed if you do not feel like wearing it but for those that are taking long trips it is nice to know that you can carry this with you and put it on in a moments notice.
Except for wearing this jacket around the house I really haven’t had the opportunity to try it on a ride, as I have just received it. The weather outside is definitely not bike weather as it is 0°C and snow is on the ground. So I will have to wait till the spring time to truly give this jacket a thorough test.
