So today while out for a short drive I decided to let the two above cameras (Vivitar DVR 787HD and the Emerson Action Cam) do a little head to head. Nothing to fancy. The two cameras were mounted pretty much right beside each other as you can see in the photo below.

So as you can hopefully see in the video the Vivitar seems to definitely be the better of the two and that is probably mostly due to the 1080p resolution compared to the 720p of the Emerson. Must admit though that this is still an unfair test of these cameras as mounting to a car like this almost always results in fairly good footage due to the stability of the car. I have done motorcycle tests with the Emerson and it did not fair well at all. We shall see in the spring how the Vivitar DVR 787HD does once the weather warms and the snow leaves the ground.
