So as many of you have probably read before, 2013 was my very first year riding. I think as far as first years go, it was a pretty great one. Now I started my riding adventure in April of 2013 and because of this I missed pretty much all the local Motorcycle shows. This would include Toronto, Montreal and of course my own city of Ottawa. Not this year.
So I didn’t go to the Toronto show (which just happened last week) as Toronto is just to far to go. Especially during Ottawa winters. Now it is a show that I will attend one year, just not this one. The Montreal show is taking place March 1st and 2nd and I already have the dates booked off from work so that I can make my way down to Montreal to hopefully see what that show is all about.
So that leaves the Ottawa International Motorcycle show.
This show will take place on February 1st and 2nd of this year and I am itching to go. This will be my very first motorcycle show, so Im not 100% sure what to expect. Which is why I’m so excited.
One of the biggest highlights for this years show is that a couple cast members from Sons of Anarchy will be there. And yes I definitely am a fan of the show, and am definitely hoping to be able to get a shot with the 2. That in itself should be reason enough to go.
There also seems to be some great sponsors and great local and national companies that will be there, which is always great to see. I so look forward to speaking with as many of them as possible and seeing what each and everyone of them is bringing to us as riders. Not sure how much cash Ill have on hand, but I’m sure ill walk out of the show having bought some cool little device which I hadn’t though of.
One of the other things that ill be looking forward to is that this show is actually put on by Riders Plus Insurance. Now this is whom I have my insurance through. I did my complete insurance application via the internet, email and phone so I never really got the opportunity to speak with anyone in regards to little details. One of the big things for me will be what kind of price jump will I be looking at once I decide to go to a larger bike, and how long should I be riding before I do that jump so as not to see my rates jump substantially. Definitely be nice to actually speak with someone.
So I hope this show will scratches the itch for at least a month as March will soon be here and hopefully the weather allows for the bikes to come out of their hibernation.
I hope you all get a chance to attend your local Motorcycle show, buy some new toys and gadgets and get prepared for winter to be over.
Until then, Ride safe
Greg
