As i spoke of on my last post about my new vest, I had also ordered a pair of leather chaps from Leatherup.ca and sure enough they have arrived! My daughter thinks they look silly and that makes me smile a bit but we both know that they are an important part of motorcycle gear.
Last year I was cut off by a car and ended up in the hospital. I really don’t remember any of the accident except for actually trying to get out of the cars way. I was fortunate though as I was only wearing jeans, a leather jacket and rain gear (pvc pants and jacket). The rain gear (especially the pants) to the majority of the damage, but it left me thinking how important it is to be wearing proper gear. This is why leather chaps were so high on my list of things to buy during the winter season. My jacket held up well, but i do think i would like something with some armour in it.
Better safe then sorry!
Well after figuring out how to put them on I must say that they are comfortable and I am quite happy with them. As always Im concerned with ordering items of clothing from online as sizing can be challenging, but these were pretty much dead on. If i had gone down a size I really don’t think they would have come up over my thighs. But these feel great.
Enjoy the video and as always I will touch base with you once the actual riding season (in 2 or so months) happens. At that point ill be able to let you know how they perform and the durability of the chaps.
Until then…
Ride Safe
